18 Jul 6 features that make the perfect team
Let’s take inspiration from a text by Chuck Cohn, who makes a list of 5 characteristics of a good working team. We’re sure that there’s at least one more… but now let’s take a look at the 5 features Cohn found.
1. Vision
We know that every company has a mission, and it’s a good thing if a clear vision of it is shared by everyone who works for the company. Each member of the team has to understand the goals of the company in order to work better and to feel part of the group.
2. Involvement
Personal involvement is a guarantee of responsibility for what you do and pride for the results you achieve. The employees who participate in the company’s goals are more likely to use all their energy and their efforts.
3. Collaboration
Collaboration means communication, dialogue, and free exchange of ideas. In a good team there isn’t competition between its members. Everybody is aware of the strong and the weak points of the colleagues and respects them.
4. Diversity
A brainstorming between people with similar background may bring good fruits, but certainly one between very different people is more useful. Embracing ideas of people with different background will bring to your team fresh suggestions and let you solve problems from an unexpected point of view.
5. Respect
Respecting each other is very important, because without respect in a group no one can feel free to express his ideas and suggestions during the team work. Also, a good leader of the group will listen to everyone and choose the best idea for the occasion.
What can we add to this list? In the last years we worked with many different teams and could observe their working habits before, during and after the Team Building activities. And what we discovered is that the key factor is…
6. Fun
Believe it or not, having fun is essential to a good team work! Your colleagues may or may not be your best friends, but a nice and relaxed atmosphere will most certainly help you to work better. Positive vibes fill the air and you don’t mind about working hard or staying a little longer to finish your part.
